het gras tussen de stoep (2025)

A bumblebee resting on a daisy, the skeleton of a leaf, and the grass between the

sidewalk.

Let me take you where I’ve been these past months, both physically and mentally.

While being overwhelmed by the accelerating modern society, I’ve been taking walks in order to slow down. I long for a space where the present moment can take the lead; where I reflect on how my direct surroundings affect my inner world. Where observations, questions and memories arise.

Part of me fears the passage of time and the way it slowly erases our memories. In ‘the grass between the sidewalk’ I reflect on how different shapes of loss can seep into our lives and how to cope with this. By combining photography, writing and drawing, this project acts as a space for recognition, but also as a reminder that everyday life can be beautiful and gentle.
